DEFINE FIELDS
FlyWrite needs to know how the fields are arranged for the input records.
The Mailing List File format requires one record per line, each record
must contain the complete mailing address information. The fields can be
fixed length or variable length with a character used as a delimiter.
After a Mailing List File name is entered in the Define Mailing screen,
select Define Fields from the Main Menu. Set the Field type to Fixed or
variable length fields. If variable is selected you will be asked to enter
the character that is used as a delimiter.
The first record from the Mailing List File is displayed with a pointer
above it, and a prompt line under it. The right and left arrow keys or
mouse moves the pointer to the identify the individual fields in the
record. Follow the instructions on the prompt line to define each field.
Use the Space Bar or Left Mouse Button to mark the start of a field, or the
End key to omit that field.
When all fields have been defined use F10 to save the field setting. Use
Escape or Right Mouse Button to exit. The Enter Key or Middle Mouse Button
is used to Accept a `marked' fixed length field.
A record may contain more fields than needed to address the mailer, any
undefined fields are ignored.
DOS WINDOW
Select DOS WINDOW to enter DOS commands, change directories, etc.. Type
Exit at the DOS prompt to return to FlyWrite.
PROCESS MAILING
After the Mailing and Fields have been defined the mailers can be addressed.
Select Process Mailing from the Main Menu. Remember, FlyWrite does not sort
the Mailing List File.
The SoftModule PO_FONTS.MOD is loaded into the printer, next the Image File
is loaded if used. The SoftModule and Image File are loaded the first time
Process Mailing is selected. If the printer is shut off, the above files
must be reloaded into the printer before Process Mailing is used again.
To reload the files into the printer, Quit and restart FlyWrite, then select
Process Mailing from the Main Menu.
If PO_FONTS.MOD is not in the current directory, you will be asked for the
path to the SoftModule.
The progress of the mailing is displayed in the status window during
processing. Escape stops printing and returns to the Main Menu. Use Pause
to temporarily interrupt processing, then any key to resume.
